Mesothelioma cancer, the cancer of mesothelium, happens in three forms, namely, pleural, peritoneal and pericardial. The infection occurs thanks to exposure to asbestos particles for very long periods and is one of the most severe sorts of malignancy. Generally, mesothelioma symptom pops up as well as the infection is observed only at developed levels and this aspect alone accounts for most mesothelioma cancer fatalities.

In 2001 terrorist crashed two hijacked planes into the Word Trade Centre Towers in New York killing over 3,000 people, however the death toll is set to rise as lethal bi-product remains fatal to surviving New Yorkers. The suspect in question is Asbestos, a fireproofing agent that was used during much of the construction of the towers in the early 1970s.

If a relative or friend has asbestosis, mesothelioma or a different asbestos-related disease it is a dreadful thing. It’s little consolation but the person who has the disease or in the case of another person already having passed away, the family of the deceased, can claim compensation. A lot of asbestos claims are actually settled out of court.

The link between mesothelioma and asbestos was not established till 1960s. Asbestos is a natural compound mined out of the earth and has been very useful in making a wide range of materials like cement, ship building etc. Its use increased since 1940s and millions of people all over the world were employed in extracting, processing and industrial activities. Since no one suspected any side effects, no precautions, whatsoever, were taken by the employers to protect their workers from inhaling or ingesting its flying fibers.
